I have changed the layout of my website ever so slightly, hope you like it! Just decided to make my illustration and textile pages separate, so that the site is easier to navigate to what you want to see. Also got rid of my “personal art” page, as I am going to keep that kind of thing, as well as “fan art” to my Tumblr account, which is more personal I guess.
Oh, here is a photo of my set up from the Everything event that I talked about in my last post, what fun I had, it was a really great night, and lovely to meet all the fellow creative and art enthusiasts out there!
I have been having a go at digital drawing this month, as I finally got my Bamboo tablet. I tried painting the characters that I had shown you guys in this post, and I am really impressed with the results, and can’t wait to do more illustration work like this. Incase you are wondering, I used Autodesk Sketchbook Pro 6 for these, as I find it easier than Photoshop, because it is solely devoted to illustrating, so all the tools you need are right in front of you, whereas with Photoshop, I would rather use that for image editing or creating repeat patterns for print.
Got a couple of new commissions this month too, won’t say just yet, but watch this space, they are going to look soOo ace!!
Just a short post today, but please take a look at the website and let me know what you think of the new layout!
Have an awesome week,
Various ponderings by me; Nicola Brand: creator of the Nicolpops stitch-punk doll. I dabble with illustration, but my main passion is for knitting, and using mixed media to create one of a kind critters.
