Since meeting Elizabeth Ramsey at my degree show, I have been working on illustrations for the lovely book she has written, I Love You When soon to be released next month. It has been my first big project since graduating, and although extremely exhausting it has been working to such a tight deadline, I am proud to say that I have finished all the illustrations in time for tomorrow!
To think I was going to leave my degree show early one day, just a wee while later was when Elizabeth walked in! I am a believer that everything happens for a reason, and this chance meeting had led us onto some brilliant conversations, and two commissions for me (schwiing!!)!
As Elizabeth writes on her website: " this book is designed to be read to children by anyone and everyone that loves them parents, foster parents, aunties, grandparents, cousins, uncles - even favourite
It is such a sentimental poem that will capture your heart!!
Please check out her website if you havn't already, for more details of the book and when it can be purchased.
There will be events in Aberdeen where Elizabeth will be promoting the book, reading extracts, and where you can get your own copy in November. I will post the dates of these on my Twiiter nearer the time.
If I can get more commissions leading on from this project, I will be super happy! So if you know anyone looking for an illustrator, send em my way! ;)
In the meantime, I am working on a collection of Christmas cards, decorations that I will put up on etsy (yes I will finally put my work up there, I seem to keep putting it off, no excuse now) aswell as a new OOAK doll and printed octopus scarf for my friend Hazel! She is such an amazingly awesome chick, I will probably devote a blog post to her very soon!! Meanwhile, check out her website hazeldance.com
Thanks for reading!!!
