Hello! This is my first ever blog post, quite daunting I may say, but I am working on trying out new things this year as I have now graduated and free to explore such things!
I was invited to take part in NEOS this year, as I met Patricia during my degree show at Grays, who runs painting and mixed media workshops all year round at Oriel Art in Aberdeenshire.
This was such an amazing opportunity as I got the chance to showcase some of my work, meet fellow artists and designers, and I ran my own workshop for the first time! I decided that I would base my workshop around my OOAK dolls that I created as part of my final year project.
I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about running a workshop, I mean this is coming from someone with a major case of dry mouth syndrome the second I have to formally present myself to the unknown. However, the day went exceptionally well, and I had such a great time creating little plushie toys: - with 5 year old Poppy surprising all of us with her fantastic cat-fox! What a creative little girl, she will be going far!

Now that NEOS is finished for the year, I shall be using what spare time I have to finish illustrating the childrens book I Love You When written by Elizabeth Ramsey - another amazing person that I met during my degree show (a note to any students reading this, please attend your own degree show everyday, as I met many fantastic people/clients during mine at the most unlikely times, you never know who you are going to meet).
I will write another blog post on that sometime this week, however.
I hope you have enjoyed reading this, please feel free to add any comments and suggestions/questions that you may have or would like me to write about, I would love to answer!
