Hello everyone! Just a wee post today to share some of the new sketches that I have done over the last week. These are just a few things I have done in my spare time for fun, and also to help me learn new poses for drawing techniques.
Hope you enjoy!
All the best,
Hi everyone!! And a late welcome to the new year, I hope your holidays were magic!
This post I am dedicating to my dear friend, Hazel Douglas, dancer, artist, teacher and entrepreneur living in Edinburgh, Scotland. You can find out a bit about her and her amazing life through her website http://www.hazeldance.com
She has started up a new fundraiser on ingiegogo, called "Kohara Arts" , here is a bit about her project:
Kohara Arts is a not for profit organisation in Edinburgh, Scotland, offering arts classes to children/ youths with mental/ physical/ learning difficulties.
Our aim is to make these classes accessible to all, meaning that we do not enforce fees. Rather we encourage families to pay as much as they can and play their part in fundraising events and spreading the good news to all.
Kohara means "to shine" and that is what we are all about. Every class is a celebration of each and every student's inner beauty, creativity and kindness. We encourage and empower every individual to perform for the rest of the class every week as well as in public performances. The joy that the young people create by performing their heart out is unbelievable!
To begin with Kohara Arts is offering two weekly dance classes with HD Dance (www.hazeldance.com) but will soon be expanding to other arts classes such as singing and drumming.
What We Need & What You Get
In order for our wonderful vision to become reality we need as much financial support as possible. We have set the goal on Indie Go Go and quite a humble £1000, however Kohara Arts will forever be fundraising, the more we recieve the more we can achieve and your support means the absolute world to us!
In return for your donation you can claim a wide number of things, from a simple yet heart warming thank you so much, to a handmade one of a kind tote bag or smiles bracelet.
Above all you will get a warm fuzzy feeling inside, knowing you have contributed to the start of something truely magical!
All profits go back into the organisation paying for rent, staff, performances, equipment etc. The sooner we can afford to become a registered charity, the sooner we can make kind donations stretch further.
The more money we get, the more classes we can establish, and the bigger we become more and more companies will believe and invest in us. The future is limitless!
Check out, share, and please show support to an independant artist. Hazel truely is a ray of sunshine to everyone who she meets, and this project is so helpful to the community and to help raise awareness for children with special needs.
